Life Skills

Our life skills program, LIFEworks, is to promote independence and personal growth in a fun environment that gives individuals the tools needed to participate in the community.

You will learn:

  • How to live a healthy lifestyle

  • Skills to live safely and independently

  • Communication and relationship skills

  • How to feel your best

  • Personal skills

  • Leisure skills

Programming is 2 days a week, 9:30am to 3:00pm at 654 Wonderland Rd North. The program runs year-round.

There is an emphasis on:

  • Values such as tolerance, trust, caring and sharing

  • Daily living skills such as writing, cooking, social & communication skills

  • Community activities such as visiting farms, museums, local parks, and engaging in volunteering opportunities

Activities:

  • Cooking and nutrition

  • Shopping

  • Physical activities such as sports, walking and fitness

  • Organizing your time

  • Attending community events and celebrations

  • Learning about other cultures

  • Money management

  • Learning about your community

  • Personal safety

  • Emotional regulation

  • Self advocacy

How to qualify for our services:

  • Able to participate independently in a group setting

  • You must be at least 18 years of age

  • No longer attend school

  • Have a Developmental Disability
