How to qualify for our FREE services:

  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident living in the London/Middlesex area.

  • Self-identify with a physical or mental barrier/ disability impacting your ability to find or maintain employment.

  • English Proficiency (ESL, English as a Second Language) level 6/7.

  • Unemployed or underemployed (Less then 10 hours a week).

In 2023, Hutton House Employment Services successfully supported over 250 local job seekers with barriers to employment in finding and retaining work that they thrived in.

  • Career Exploration

    A variety of methods and tools are available to assist you to discover your strengths and employment goals.

  • Work Action Plan

    A Case Manager works with you to create a step by step plan that recognizes your interests, strengths and supports that you may require to work toward your employment goal.

  • Computer Training

    Hutton House Learning Centre offers a fully accessible computer lab with many adaptive devices and programs.

  • Job Search

    A Case Manager will assist you to find job opportunities in a variety of ways such as online resources, networking, cold calls and job development.

  • Job Coaching & Job Retention

    Job Coaches are available to meet with you at work to help you learn your job. They will assist you off site to resolve any work related challenges.

  • Workshops

    Employment workshops help to prepare and build confidence while looking for work. There is no fee. This can include both in-class and/or short term hands on internships.

Our Employment Programs

HIRE UP Program

The HIRE UP program works under the guidelines of the London Regional Employment Services. Our self-directed service brings participants through a team of supports. You would start your journey with an employment consultant to discuss your employment goals. Participate in our pre-employment training and workshops to prepare you for the workforce.

When you are job ready, you will be able to work alongside one of our business developers to seek employment. The HIRE UP program works under the guidelines of the London Regional Employment Services. Our self-directed service brings participants through a team of supports. You would start your journey with an employment consultant to discuss your employment goals. Participate in our pre-employment training and workshops to prepare you for the workforce.

Did you know?

Participants of the LRES Hire-UP program may be eligible for Employment Skills Training Financial Supports, and may qualify for Employer Incentives in exchange for an opportunity to show their talents in the workplace. 

Goals, Preparation and Skills Program (GPS)

Goals, Preparation, and Skills (GPS) is a program funded by the Federal government’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy to help unemployed or underemployed youth that are under 30 and facing physical or mental barriers to employment.  

The program begins with three weeks of paid in-class workshops, a week of individual skills training and certifications; and then ends with a 12 week paid placement. We strive to find the best fit for the participant and employer, focusing on your unique talents and interests and goals. 

To be eligible for the program, you must be not in school and are either unemployed or working less than ten hours per week.

Did you know?

94% of participants that join the GPS program successfully complete 3 weeks of paid workshops and 12 weeks of paid job placement.

The ORCHARD Program

The ORCHARD program at the PATCH London is a 30 hour per week program including 3 weeks of in-class pre-employment workshops, followed by a 12-week hands-on paid placement within the hospitality and urban agriculture sectors. Must have a keen interest in the suggested employment fields!

PATCH-ED

The PATCH-ED program is a 10 hour per week program including 8 weeks of hands-on urban agriculture workshops and in-class pre-employment skill building. Eligibility includes self-identification of a disability/barrier, Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, unemployed/underemployed and having a keen interest in employment in the Urban Agriculture sector.
