Hutton House offers a diverse range of recreation and leisure programs, including pottery, art, drama, fitness, and nutrition, designed to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities by fostering creativity, well-being, and social engagement.

How to get started:

Register as a Hutton House participant.

You must be registered with Hutton House and complete an intake before registering for classes.  Intake includes filling out forms and a tour of our facility.

Get added to our email list.

Once registered with Hutton House, your name will be added to the ARTworks email list. The program calendars will be distributed quarterly.

Choose classes quarterly.

When you receive the calendar, you choose the classes you would like to attend.  Hutton House will inform you by email which classes you will be in. 

*We do our best to accommodate all requests, but we do have a wait list for many classes and activities.

Our Recreation and Leisure Programs:

ARTworks

ARTworks runs Monday to Friday.  You must be at least 16 years of age, and able to participate in a small group setting. There are four semesters- Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter.  Register each semester for the classes and activities of your choice. If you are attending classes or activities in the morning and afternoon, you need to bring your lunch. You must arrange your own transportation to and from Hutton House.

*There is a basic fee for each class. If you do not have enough money to cover the cost of a class, assistance may be available.

Classes and Activities:

  • Karaoke

  • Pottery

  • Drama and improv

  • Bowling

  • Watercolour Painting

  • Step by Step Art classes

  • Colouring

A variety of other activities are offered based on interest and on a seasonal basis such as social classes, gardening and festive crafts.

Fitness and Nutrition

Classes at the Hutton House Fitness Studio focus on a healthy lifestyle. Fitness classes promote active living, are engaging, and revolve around personalized fitness goals such as improving balance, muscle tone, muscle strength and improving flexibility. Our gym is fully equipped and participants have access to adaptive fitness equipment. Our cooking classes focus on healthy and economical eating, incorporating all 4 food groups, teaching meal planning, and promoting self-sufficiency in meal preparation.

  • Cooking class

  • Bands class

  • Damian Warner Fitness Program

A variety of other activities are offered based on interest and on a seasonal basis such as tai chi and First Aid Certification.
